Ronel John Lupango, known as RJ, is a 24 year old Filipino Canadian entrepreneur, content creator, and servant leader based in Brooks, Alberta. Born in Masbate, Philippines and raised in Iloilo City, RJ moved to Brooks in May 2010 at age 8 alongside his mom to reunite with his dad, who had come to Canada first and earned his permanent residency. An immigrant family that put in the work and built a life here.
Brooks is home. He also spent two years living in Calgary before coming back to the community that raised him. That sense of rootedness, of belonging somewhere and wanting to give back to it, shapes everything he does.
Faith is not a side note in RJ's story. It is the foundation. As a Christian entrepreneur, he is guided by the belief that true greatness comes through serving others, a conviction rooted in Mark 10:43. He serves at his local church as a musician, playing bass, piano, guitar, and drums for worship.
That verse is not decoration. It is the operating principle behind every business decision, every client interaction, and every project RJ takes on.
RJ founded ScoobyDoody Waste Busters in March 2022 at just 20 years old. He saw a gap in his community, a need nobody was filling, and decided to be the one to fill it. What started as pet waste removal has grown into a six service operation serving Brooks and area as well as Calgary, with over 28 Google reviews and a reputation built on reliability and genuine care.
He holds a Business Administration diploma from East West College, class of 2022, and brings real world experience from years working across the hospitality industry including restaurants, hotels, catering, seniors care, and event venues. That background gave him something no classroom could: the ability to show up for people.
RJ believes that every place you visit shapes how you see the world and the people in it. He has traveled to Japan, Mexico, the United States, France, and the Philippines, and each trip has deepened his perspective on people, culture, and purpose.
When he is not working or playing music at church, RJ is spending time with his dog Toffee. He is passionate about business, content creation, faith, and genuinely helping the people around him. Not because it looks good. Because it is who he is.
